Ashland, Henry Clay’s Estate (120 Sycamore Road):

This location was once home to Henry Clay, the esteemed senator of Kentucky.  Known as “The Great Compromiser,” Clay brought Thoroughbred horses to Kentucky.  Tours are held from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on the hour.  The grounds include Ashland, its carriage house and ice cellar, a restaurant and museum store.  The history behind this great man, and house, is wonderful. Keeneland Race Course (4201 Versailles Road):

Keeneland is a beautiful, historic track located near Leestown Road.  Thoroughbred races are held in April and October.  Each Saturday morning from 7:00-8:30 you can eat breakfast in Keeneland’s fine dining room for only $5.  Activities are available for both adults and children.  Races start at 1:15!Race On

Churchill Downs (700 Central Avenue, Louisville, Kentucky):

Home to the Kentucky Derby, the most exciting two minutes in sports, Churchill Downs is located in beautiful Louisville, Kentucky.  The track opened in 1875 and was named after John and Henry Churchill.  Enjoy a race or tour during your visit.Visit Churchill   

The Lexington Opera House (401 West Short Street):

The Lexington Opera House was built in 1886.  It holds approximately 1,000 seats and hosts some of today’s most popular Broadway plays such as The Producers, Cats, and Hairspray.  The Lexington Opera House has a VERY extensive history, and the beautiful theatre is a must-see when visiting Lexington. Kentucky Horse Park (4089 Iron Works Parkway ):

Dedicated to man's relationship with the horse, the Kentucky Horse Park is unlike any other park in the world -- a showcase of museums, galleries, theaters, and working farm exhibits. More than 50 breeds of horses graze upon its 1,200 acres of lush pastures.Visit the KY Horse Park
